The Jamestown Community College Jayhawks men's basketball team (NJCAA Div. II, 2-0) hosted the Panthers of Tompkins Cortland Community College (NJCAA Div. III, 0-2) in the Crossover Classic Basketball Tournament. The Panthers played the Jayhawks close with the Jayhawks only leading by 3 points at the half. The second half proved equally competitive with the Jayhawks pulling ahead of the Panthers for a 96-89 victory. The Jayhawks were led by #4 Chris Van Buren's (Brooklyn) 33 points and 8 assists; #34 Ohndo Smith (Manhattan) who recorded a double double with 29 points and 22 rebounds; #20 Jaleel Gary's (Bronx) 16 points and 6 rebounds; and #33 Kamal Nelson's (Brooklyn) 8 points and 6 rebounds.
