Jamestown Hangs Tough

Game 1: #14 Braiden Blair was the starting pitcher and pitched a complete game for the Jayhawks. The game was held scoreless heading into the top of third inning when Genesee C.C. scored four runs for the early lead. #11 Carlo Rodriguez, had 4-3 groundout RBI with #8 Spencer TeWinkle scoring the first run for the Jayhawks in the bottom of the third, cutting the cougar lead to just three. The game, again, would go into standstill with both sides struggling to find their offensive rhythm. Rodriguez would hit a double in the bottom of the fifth, but in the end Genesee would maintain their three run lead and take the four to one victory.

Game 2: In game two, Jamestown would use a host of pitchers starting with #16 Paul Tripi #27 Hyeonsang Cho in the third inning, then #9 Roberto Aracena to finish the game. At the start, each team exchanged a run a piece heading into the third inning with Jamestown executing an excellent 5-3 double play to get out of the second inning. Genesee, however, would explode for eight runs in the third inning. Blair for Jamestown would score off of a sacrifice bunt by #23 Evan Harrison to get the Jayhawks on the board. Additionally, Tripi would hit a triple in the bottom of the fifth which brought in Rodriguez for the Jayhawks second run. Tripi would also score off an infield error as well. However, with a run scored in the fourth inning and four in the fifth, Genesee would go onto take the fourteen to three win.
