Just When Jayhawks Have The Answers, Lazers Change The Questions

The JCC Jayhawks men's baseball team (NJCAA 1-7) went on the road to face the Lazers of Onondaga Community College (NJCAA 12-1) in double header action.  After two scoreless innings, the Jayhawks got on the board in the top of the 3rd.  While this gave the Jayhawks the momentum and a 1-0 lead, it also rallied the Lazers who scored 4 runs in the bottom of the same inning.  The score would remain 4-1 as neither team could get things going in the 4th or 5th inning but then the Jayhawks got hot, and scored 3 runs in the top of the 6th inning.  With the score now tied 4-4, the Lazers again rose to the occasion and again scored 4 runs to take an 8-4 lead and that would remain the score as the Lazers defeated the Jayhawks.  On offense, the Jayhawks were again led by the hot bat of #7 Noah Weinstein (Jamestown) who had 1 hit and 2 RBI's.  #24 Noah Whalen (Buffalo) and #8 DJ Yates (New London, OH) also had RBI's.  On defense, the loss went to pitcher #15 Chad Nelson (Jamestown) (0-3) who faced 25 batters, recording 6 strikeouts while allowing 4 earned runs.

The second half of the double header saw the Jayhawks the Jayhawks take the lead right off the bat, scoring two runs in the top of the 1st inning to take a 2-0 lead.  However, the Lazers bats would come alive in a big way in the bottom of the second inning as they scored 6 runs.  The score would remain 6-2 after no runs were scored by either team in the 3rd, 4th, or 5th innings.  The bottom of the 6th inning saw the Lazers put the nail in the Jayhawks coffin with a 4 run inning that would give the Lazers a 10-2 victory over the Jayhaws.    The Jayhawks offense was led by #5 Steve Krystofiak (Brocton) who had 1 hit and 2 RBI's while #8 DJ Yates (New London, OH) had 2 hits and scored 1 run.  On defense, the loss went to pitcher #27 Ryan Johnson (Brocton) (0-1) who faced 22 batters, recording 2 strike outs while allowing 5 earned runs.
