Men's Baseball vs Westmoreland CCC (Double Header)

The JCC Jayhawks men's baseball team (NJCAA Div II, 0-7) went on the road to play the Wolfpack of Westmoreland County Community College (NJCAA Div II, 6-9) in a doubleheader.  Game 1 saw the Wolfpack jump all over the Jayhawks, scoring 15 runs in the first two innings.  Things settled down for the Jayhawks and the Jayhawks offense got going in the 4th inning with 3 runs scored by #18 Michael Wilcox (Falconer),  #21 Robbie Burgess (Westfield), and  #9 Jeff Miller (Jamestown).  But the Jayhawks offense was not able to overcome the earlier defensive woes as the Wolfpack downed the Jayhawks 16-3.  #10 Michael Williamson (Cuba) (0-3) took the loss facing 29 batters and allowing 11 earned runs.  The Jayhawks offense was led by #2 Cam Haberberger (Jamestown) who had 2 RBI's, #18 Wilcox who had 2 hits including a double, #11 Bryce Sherrard (Youngsville) had a sacrifice fly RBI, and #9 Miller had 1 hit.

Game 2 saw a similar pattern to Game 1.  The Wolpack scored 13 runs in the first two innings before things settled down.  The Jayhawks defense played the Wolfpack closer from the 3rd inning on, only allowing 1 additional score, but the Jayhawks offense would not take advantage as they Wolfpack shutout the Jayhawks 14-0.  #30 Adam Gullo (Jamestown), #11 Bryce Sherrard (Youngsville), and #7 Noah Weinstein (Jamestown) each had hits for the Jayhawks offense. #22 Brandon Pistner (Amherst) (0-1) took the loss giving up 6 hits and 10 earned runs.  Pitcher #9 Jeff Miller (Jamestown) got into the zone while on the mound giving up only 1 earned run and 3 hits while also striking out 3 batters.
